Just on the off chance that you don&#8217;t know what it was, 14 year old Ryan McLaughlin of Drumchapel in Glasgow took his campaign to the Scottish Parliament to provide vitamin D to children and pregnant mothers in an effort to reduce future instances of Multiple Scelorosis in Scotland.</p>
<p>Using technologies such as Twitter, Facebook, our contacts in the Scottish media, as well as good old email, phone calls and snail mail, we were able to push <a href="http://www.shineonscotland.org.uk/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.shineonscotland.org.uk');" target="_blank">Shine on Scotland</a> to front pages of publications such as The Herald and features in publications such The Times, Daily Record, The Evening Times and The Express. Not only that the campaign was featured on <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8101610.stm" target="_blank">BBC News</a>, <a href="http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/95493-glasgow-teenager-gets-jk-rowlings-backing-for-ms-campaign/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/news.stv.tv');" target="_blank">STV News</a>, GMTV News and their websites were carrying our viral video.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft" title="Ryan and Kirsten - Shine on Scotland" src="http://www.shineonscotland.org.uk/media/2009/05/kirsten-ryan-the-times-300x144.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="144" />Working in collaberation with the <a href="http://www.shineonscotland.org.uk/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.shineonscotland.org.uk');" target="_blank">Shine on Scotland</a> campaign team we provided the campaign strategy, web presence and the appropriate training to use these tools. The campaign was also supported by <a href="http://www.mssocietyscotland.org.uk/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.mssocietyscotland.org.uk');" target="_blank">MS Society Scotland</a> and <a href="http://www.revivemssupport.org.uk/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.revivemssupport.org.uk');" target="_blank">Revive MS Support</a>.</p>
